Abby was born in York, sister to twin Louise and older brother Damian.

She grew up in a North Yorkshire village with parents Norman and Judith and enjoyed an childhood in the countryside with dogs, horses and fresh air.

Schooled at Primary schools St Aelred's and St Wilfred's in York where her father was Headmaster, she then attended The Bar Convent Grammar School which eventually became All Saints. She moved to St Peter’s School for her sixth form years.

After completing an English BA Hons degree at Leicester University, Abby applied to Drama Schools, choosing to attend Drama Centre, London, then run by Yat Malgram and Christopher Fettes. She studied there for 3 years.

Abby is married to actor Steven Hartley and lives in London with their daughter Tess and cat Bisou.

She retains strong ties to Yorkshire where half her family and friends still reside.

Abby is a dedicated runner and runs for The TV Times Leukemia Research Running Team. She has completed two London Marathons and countless half marathons and 10k races. Her fastest Marathon time is 3 hours 50 mins which she hopes to improve on.
